PRODUCTION and CHARACTERIZATION of GELATIN FUNCTIONALIZED HYDROXYAPATITE COMPOSITE MICROSPHERES for BIOMEDICAL APPLICATIONS

In this study, it is aimed to produce composite hydroxyapatite (HA) gelatin microspheres (HA-Gel) intended for drug delivery applications. The polymer network within the HA particle-matrix can be facilitated as a carrier system. dissolution of in physiological medium allows release controlled manner and also develop cell-microsphere interactions. Gelatin functionalized bare granules were produced by spray drying. morphology, thermal properties, chemical phase structure powders analysed with SEM, TG-DTA, FTIR XRD. HA-Gel presented spherical morphology hollow/core-shell cross-section included nanoparticles together according XRD studies. TG-DTA results showed that was evolved from ~300 °C, stable up 1400 °C. released after immersion phosphate buffer saline (PBS) solution 14 days.
